Injectables

Below are brief descriptions of the injectable treatments that the Celestial Institute of Plastic Surgery offers.

Botox - Botox injections are used to prevent undesired expression lines associated with frowning, squinting and other expressions. It prevents those lines by paralyzing the muscle it is injected into. Botox is a safe, FDA approved product that should only be injected by licensed practitioners specialized to perform such treatments. Treatments are generally well tolerated requiring no anesthesia. Botox is expected to last anywhere between 3-6 months but varies per patient. When botox is injected according to manufacturer standards "touch ups" should not be required. The effects of botox are usually observed within a week of injection.

Juvederm Ultra, Ultra XC and Radiesse - These products are injectable fillers used to restore facial volume as well as fill in deep grooves and lines such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Determining which filler is right for you depends on various factors such as injectable history and the area that you want to treat. Injections are generally well tolerated and a local anesthetic is typically injected to ensure maximum comfort. Injectable filler treatments need to be repeated if you would like to maintain the result. Fillers can last up to a year but varies per patient based on many factors such as depth of injection, site of injection and the rate of its absorption.

Restylane - A dermal filler which is made of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. This is made in a sterile lab through biotechnology. The hyaluronic acid mimics the skin's naturally occurring hyaluronic acid to add volume to the skin. No skin test is required and the results can be seen instantly after the treatment. It is an FDA approved product and lasts about 6 months.

Juvederm - Juvederm is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. This smooth consistency gel helps add volume and hydration to your face. Juvederm is most commonly used to treat your smile lines, or nasolabial folds.
